    Sprint's Rumor(white) vs. Samsung 520

Which do you think has better reception?  That's really what I need it for, I don't have an internet/data package...and I don't plan to pay for it..

Go with the Rumor, its an LG, LGs make some of the best phones in terms of service. Trust me, I use to sell cell phones for a living.

LGs tend to have some of the best signal, although Nokia tend to have the best. As for the Samsung itself, well, its not Bad. If you are REALLY concerned about signal, such as you are often in an area with weak signal the LG would be better. But it really depends on how much you are worried about signal, because in all honesty your not gonna see an amazing difference, just a slight difference in some areas.

A good example though is my wifes previouse LGs. We are both ATT, and she had way better signal then I did almost all the time. And I went through 3 phones, the Razr, A samsung A707, and now the Blackberry 8310. She pretty much always had better service then me fo rhte most part. Although now she switched over to the Palm Centro, and gets alright service.

I am worried about signal!!  Who isn't?  I should be getting the RUMOR in the mail today after work. Then I'll have to activate it.. go thru that whole schpeel..(I've never received a phone thru mail and activated it... how will I get my numbers 'n stuff?)

I've tested the m520 for about 6 days.. it was ok. Signal was okay...probably my area. Sprint TS was suppose to visit the area to test it.. never heard back from them.  The phone was small in my hand, and the slide part didn't quite work out for me... it was just awkward.  Hopefully this RUMOR slaps it outta the park.. I really like it in the store.

Well, I never activated a phone from Sprint so I couldn't tell you, I use to activate for ATT, T-mobile, and Verizon. Depending on how they have you do it, but pretty much every phone has an information screen that tells you what the phone number is. So it should be pretty easy. If you activate it online the website should tell you as well.

When i bought my razr online came, the SIM card was already programed, so all I had to do was slip the sim card into the phone and it was good to go. Then again I had an unlocked phone so =P

Activating phones on the sprint network is extremely easy.

First thing you do is go to www.sprint.com then make an account unless you already have one.

Once all logged in you will see pictures of the phones already on the account. They actually give you option to upgrade your phones and stuff right there.

Its just as easy as popping the battery off and getting the esn number off the back and inserting it into their website.

Afterwards it'll give you the code needed to finish programming on the phone itself.

It took me about 6 or 7 minutes throughout the entire process, but i upgraded from a samsung a920 to my now current sprint 6800 mogul. *Few more steps for pda phones*

    Re: Sprint's Rumor(white) vs. Samsung 520

So I've had the RUMOR for about 8 hours and it seems to be okay. Still kinda small in the hand; haven't sent too many texts yet. Will have to test it out for the next couple of days and see if it fits.

I will have to say that with all the issues going on with my Sprint package... I've spent waay too much time on the phone with customer care. I actually went around for about 44 minutes until I finally got transfered to Account Services.. Finally getting some resolution... the customer care/support facilities across the globe just don't know what they're talking about... it's sooo much different talking to some1 that does.. wowOffTopic

..not sure if I'm impressed with LG yet..

Don't blame your sprint problems on them =P Any issue your having is most likely on sprints end.

olo  - Nick at account services really did a good job.  Things wouldn't be such a problem if I didn't have to explain things to each person. I hate calling into call centers in the Philippines

My RUMOR is pretty cool. I've got a 32 mb mini-sd card with some tunes on it, but how do I convert those to be my ringers? I want to be able to have my music as ringers for people that call..  n00bie...n00bie-do   OldMan
