How does the 640gig Western digital hard drive run?? here is how i was thinking of breaking it down:
d:/ 250gigs
e:/250gigs
F:/96gigs

i read i wont get the 640 when i partition it, i dont like that idea...should i go smaller...

btw

c:/vista only --> 80gig sata 16mb cache

i am keeping vista on its own hd...
 

Due to the file tables and other things, yea you won't see the full 640MB.

Regardless of the size or how many partitions you have on it, it will basically run the same as it would if you made it one large partition. if lots of partitions helps you sort your stuff out, then lots of partitions it is.

agreed.  I would put the Page file on the 2nd HD, but other than that, s'up to you.

you will never see the full 640GB, and probably 625GB, right?

i usually have 3 partitions on my hdd, one for OS and the other two for programs and movies music etc. 
and if you wanna add more partitions later, you can use yr disk management.
