Need Advice on an External Enclosure for a 3.5" HD

I already own a "Western Digital My Book Essential 2.0 WDH1U5000N 500GB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive," but the enclosure is broken (the USB plug snapped off inside the enclosure).  Obviously, I need to get a new enclosure ... but before I order willy-nilly, I was wondering if there is anything specific that I should know as to what kind of enclosure I should be looking for (power- and specs-wise), or will any SATA-compatible enclosure do?

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

I have this Azio Enclosure, and I've run it both through USB & eSATA, both work fine. Right now I have these connected through eSATA. Anyways, no cooling fan to break, does a decent job cooling the drive, as long as you don't constantly load it.
