    Mei gets the axe

    Looks like I will have plenty of time to catch up on mei anime and manga series that have been piling up.  Wink

     (copied from mei post in the Uber section of the forums)

    Well I got called while on vacation that the company is going to surplus mei after 12 years of service.  "Surplus" is what we call it when we let some one go for good.  So mei last day has not been set as of yet but odds are it will be some time this month.

    So soon I will be in the local bread lines picking up mei un-employment checks.  Seems kinda surreal.

    One good thing is that they are giving mei a payout to help with the bills and will hire a head hunter for mei for 4 months.

    Sorry to see you go but at least they compensated you and did not out right fire you so you will be able to draw benefits. Hope they did not remove your rights to visit as a member of the eggxpert team and post with us.Sad

    Yep I will have more time to spam the egg!!  (Hog I do not work for the egg if that was what you where thinking)

    I might use some of the payout to get a cheap lappy after I pay off mei car.

    Nope, I figured you worked for Newegg or 1 of their subsidiaries and that they might not want to take the chance of any conflicts of interest. But that makes no difference we will be happy to chat with you as a fellow member in good standing of the eggxpert team.Cool

    Sorry to hear you've been laid off Mei..  New beginnings are not a bad thing and if you do things right, you'll always end up better than you were before!

    Mei, it will be OK. I went through that once, I then took a few different positions and finally ended up as President of a company I started with as a salesman. It was a very good thing from a very down time. It will be OK, I am sure. Just look at the 4th of July 08 as your independence day. You are too talented to not end up on top of this.

    Got the word that the 18th of this month is mei last day on the job.  Kinda looking forward to it now.  Yes

    I have looked into anime and still might do that someday but the market for anime and making money off of it is getting killed via the torrents.  Not much of a future till they fix how easy it is to steal.  (as no one, it seems, will ever give up stealing things no matter how many people it puts out of work)
