    Different Brand Forums

I would really like to see a forum section for major brands. All of the Gigabyte, or Asus, or XFX enthusiasts can go to these forums and discuss the latest products from their favorite companies, discuss issues they're having, and provide meaningful feedback to the manufacturer. I can see it being a very useful tool for manufacturers to come and see what people are saying about their products. I enjoy the fact that notebookreview.com has individual forums for each major notebook company. It's very useful in researching a product form a specific company. I don't know about everyone else, but I would really like to be able to go to an Asus or XFX forum and talk about what's new and what's coming out. What does everyone else think of this idea?

    Re: Different Brand Forums

i think that is a great idea, cuz just today alone i was looking for info on an ASUS Motherboard and a room just for that would have been great to go to.

    Re: Different Brand Forums

the best idea i have ever heard.

if there are brand forums, i will go to Toshiba first. this is the first time i use its notebook, it is a good idea to talk to the ppl who has the same product.

    second! second!

Well, if you guys like the idea, please tell more people about this thread and have them comment, the more people who agree, the more likely it will become a reality.

    Re: Different Brand Forums

Er...sounds like a neat idea, but i doubt it's hard to make it happen, for there are so many many brands ranging from accessories to HTPC. A totally full consideration might be hard to make. Huh?

    Re: Different Brand Forums

That would be a lot of forums... but what exact purpose would they serve? News? I am unsure. Tongue Tied

    Re: Different Brand Forums

if the forums were kept to the major manufactures there wont be that many, and the pourpose would be for individules needing help on that spicific brand, or new that they have heard from that company, anything really that pertains to that companie.

    Re: Different Brand Forums

And to be honest, most system builders are fanboys in one way or another. They've either been building with one company all their life because they think it's the best, or will stay a thousand miles away from another brand because they think it's the worst. And for me, I'd like to be able to discuss certain products and troubleshoot certain problems with people who have similar experience working with a certain brand.

    Re: Different Brand Forums

It sounds like a good idea. How ever we already have people that come here and post in the wrong threads as it is and that tends to confuse a lot of people as well. And to list all 2,392 brands would also be a lot of up keep for the admins.

    Re: Different Brand Forums

I can see where the idea for brand forums could be good but having been an admin on forums in the past, I also see how the extra work could be very time-consuming.  Here is a thought though that should be quite a bit less time consuming.  How abut having sticky threads in a forum for each component of a PC with links to the companies that make that components forums.  Here is an example of what I mean: for Hard drives, have links to Samsung, WD, Seagate, etc.  for video cards, have two classifications within the sticky thread so Nvidia and ATI product manufacturers can be grouped together.  I think this would help make it easier for people needing help to get help from the various manufacturers  Since we already have forums for most/all components, I would suggest putting the sticky thread with the links for that component in that specific forum.

as  i stated before,,the egg site has links to all Manuf. sites, that have links to their forums,,it would be unfair to ask the people that work hard for us on this site to burden them with doing something that has already been done on the egg site because of a few people that don't want to push a few extra buttons to get to those forums,,,go to the Manuf. sites and bookmark the forums, very simple, and not asking these people to do more unnecessary work,,,,it's not hard to   button,,,,

    Dear god no, never!

Do you have ANY clue how many brands there are in the computer categories alone? This forum would go from functional to, well I can't say what I'm thinking, but anyways ... I am, and will forever be against any such move.

    Re: Different Brand Forums

Er, seems a little bit difficult to realize.

As others said, there are some many brands, how can we cover everyone of them?

Besides, many famous brands have their own forums, they have official news and

recommendations, when users have problem with their products, they will go to them

    directly.Hmm
