A quick thought. 

Just wonder how many cpu cores will u have with ur next PC? and why?

well quad-core processors are available for less than $200 and six- and eight-core CPUs on the way next year....
The core race is well in progress.

My next will be 8 cores. Why? Because it's an upgrades, so it must worths it.

1 core -> 2 cores -> 4 cores -> 8 cores. Right?

my next will prolly just be 4 as i'm quad right now and come nowhere close to max load so don't see the need to upgrade

but then again i never saw a reason to jump from dual to quad so who knows

Me? my present pc goes with quad cores, so my next one will probably be 8 cores. Hah...it's an upgrade indeed...

I'd like to think and hope that through shrinkage and new archutectural advances we'll never need anything over 5ghz. bigger nu,bers shouldn't always mean better performance.
