    GeForce 6150 w/ 1080p?

    Hi all,

I bought a barebones ASUS T3-M2NC51PV from Newegg last fall, and have been having a lot of fun with it. I installed MythTV (Mythbuntu), and it's been rock solid - no problems at all.

However, I'm thinking of buying a HDTV to use as a monitor instead of my current 24" CRT. The T3-M2NC51PV comes with GeForce 6150 onboard graphics. Will this drive a 1080p television, or should I limit myself to 720p? My box has an AMD X2 5600+ dual core processor, and 2GB of RAM (soon to be upgraded to 4).

6150 should be able to run 1080p assuming you dedicated 256MB of RAM. However, if you start playing games or some HDTV, it might lag a little. A budget video card (such as the 8400GS) will cost the same as 2GB of RAM and make your computer much faster than upgrading to 4GB
