    Diablo II 1.12patch

The new Diablo II patch just released, along with a ladder reset.  I haven't played DII in a while, and don't have my disk anymore, but there are a ton of rumors going around that DiabloIII will be announced at the upcoming Blizzard World Wide Invitationals on June 29th.  Any Diablo fans here?

Wow, I'm kinda surprised Blizz is still releasing patches for DII.  I mean, its what, 7 or 8 years old now?

I was seriously addicted when it was first release.  I played it for almost 2 years to the exclusion of almost everything else.  I still go back and play it now and then.  That'd be awesome if they made a third one! Yes

I played a ton of Diablo2 but only a couple times in the last 5 years.  I had already stopped playing when the 1.10 patch came out but no one I talked to liked that patch and they all stopped playing after it.

Yeah, I was still playing regularly when that patch came out, but I stopped shortly after.  Aside from finally getting tired of the game, that patch was one of the reasons I stopped.

I liked some of the additions to the game, but personally I found the drawbacks to be a bigger problem.  My favorite characters were the Sorceress and the Necro, but the patch made them useless in higher difficulty levels, unless you were a highly skilled player with outrageous equipment.

What finally set me off was my druid.  I forget what level, but I could kill NM Baal in 3 hits.  I go to Hell difficulty and consistently get killed in one hit by a skeleton.  You can't tell me that's balanced and expect me to believe it.

D2 was an absolute classic, I too still battle the forces of hell from time to time.  Although I do have to agree that after the 1.2 patch the level of gear required for some characters just to take a couple hits in hell is out of control (what is this WOW) I mean I'm not in high school like I was when this came out I have a job I can't spend all day searching the world for that one last piece of the Imortal Kings Set.

I have played through D2 more than any other game due to it age old fun factor and great multiplayer goodness.  Not sure I will re-install due to City of Hero's being mei new obsession, but you never know.

    Re: Diablo II 1.12patch

I love DII.  Hated one of the patches a few years ago and haven't played since.  I probably still have my characters on an old hdd.  I'd love to see a DIII come out.

    Re: Diablo II 1.12patch

I consider Diablo 2 one of the greatest games of all time and probably THE game that brought me out of the casual console gamers market and into PC's.

I'd be happy if someone just reworked the original Diablo 2 and made it support higher resolutions, add character customizations and better team play support....maybe some new weapons/armor.

If it ain't broke don't fix it, just like Starcraft I hope when Diablo 3 does come out they don't mess with it too much.

    Re: Diablo II 1.12patch

I played since 1.07 all the way until 1.1 when they deleted legit 1.08 items. Since quite a few of my items was from 1.08 they all disappeared. Also didn't want to start all over again so I quit.

    Re: Diablo II 1.12patch

It has begun!!Blizzard has started a pre-release teaser.  On monday Blizzard.com started showing a splash page of ice with a light coming through it, and a strange rune on one side. today it changed slightly, the light is now brighter and there is a 2nd rune added.  can't wait to see how it changes tomorrow, for anyone interested it changes around 12:10am pac. time.

    Re: Diablo II 1.12patch

Dunno if it's related to Diablo 3 though....all you see is what looks like ice and a couple runes.

Looks more like just a teaser for Frozen Throne to me. But here's hoping it is Diablo 3....I can't wait for them to make one.
