    My subwoofer broke!

I have a Philips 5.1 surround sound system for my pc, and lately the subwoofer was just giving out enormous volumes of bass for no reason and it got really annoying. I went to take a look at it i disconnected the power from it and the little pin in the subwoofer that attaches to the power supply broke, and now i cant even use the speakers is there anway i can use it without a subwoofer.

    Re: My subwoofer broke!

You'll have to be more specific as to what your system is. There are quite a few Phillips surround systems. Is it these?

    Hows you tech level?

You can always solder the pins back on to it, and use it as you always would, or pay someone to, if its worth it.

    Re: My subwoofer broke!

lol gmscool you stole my idea! Yeah ive even see in some cases where people have ude soder in the past and it worked perfect. My only recomendation would be not to move the system very often because the solder will break off.

Check out you tube to see how to solder, id get you a link myself but im at work my you tube is blocker :(!!!!

    Re: My subwoofer broke!

I will assume your warranty has expired on it, the only thing you could do is either replace the power plug assembly if it is a seperate unit or possibly check with an electronics store to see if they carry that connector and replace it.Cool
