I wasn't able to find this while searching, so I just figured I'd try to ask here. Here's the situation - last week, I ordered an external hard drive and some RAM. I was out of town and didn't even open my stuff up until yesterday (though it was technically delivered last Wednesday) and today, when I went to right up an early review of the drive - I noticed that it is $10 cheaper.

 $10 isn't a huge deal, but since I placed the order 7 days ago, received it 4 days ago - does anyone know if Newegg will price match themselves and credit me the difference? I've been using Newegg for years and never run into this situation. 

I don't believe that they do a price matching or price guarantee but I have heard that they might be looking into something of this nature.  I would contact one of the online reps for exact clarification or one of the eggstaff on this forum :)

I'm in a similar situation, but in my case, there was a $30.00 price drop and I haven't even received my shipment yet.  Anyone available to look into this?

i just posted basically the same thing in another thread. paid 159 for a cpu, and the NEXT WEEK it was 139. happened to me 3 diff times.

LET me try and understand something here. Some of you folks ordered stuff, and obviously paid the price as seeing how you ordered it. And after the stuff is shipped, or delivered whatever, you see the price of the product went down. So you want Newegg to credit you the difference as if you had ordered it at the new lower price????

I thought price matching was between different dealers. If so-and-so has something for this much, and the Egg is selling it for that much, you are asking them to sell it for the lower price of the other dealer right? So they get the sale and not the competition. But in these cases, you agreed to buy something at the price the Egg listed, and even had you CC company cut them the $$$, but now that they've lowered it, you want them to price match IN TIME, not against a competitor.

I don't know, I must be missing something here. OK, so you ordered it 7 days ago, its been there for 4 days, don't know  why b/c you hadn't opened it makes it any different situation, but anyways, so give you back the difference. What if something went up? Based on this logic, you should be paying the Egg more if they raise the price on something.

Well based on this "I bought this - now its lower - I want" premise, and I'll agree to it if it works, I paid $179 for my 6000+ x 2 DC CPU, but its $153 now, I'd like the $26 difference please. Also I paid $249 for my 8800GT, its $209 now, I'd like my $40 please.

Wow I love how this works. Maybe the Egg is the best reseller around.

Question though, isn't price-matching against ones-self called something like "winging one off?"

I could see perhaps crediting people with a certain percent of the difference if taken care of within a certain amount of time from purchase.  However, that's almost like the egg asking you to pay them the difference if you bought a product on sale and the price went back up, I sure would not be thrilled with that.

 

Originally, this was about competitors then it became newegg itself.  Like Cindy mentioned above they have to price-matching policy either internal or external.  Which makes sense, however they will look into some situations if you bring them to their attention.  However, this is and only will be consumer inititated.

We should all be very thankful that newegg will even look into these type of price matching situations. Most competitors will scoff at the idea of going the extra mile.

Newegg will always reimburse you the price difference, if the price changes prior to the delivery; not when the package is opened.

i bought the 5000+ BE for about $85 shipped to my house last week. it is not here yet, but i see a price drop already, it is now $77.21 shipped to my house.  can you help me plz?

thank you for the fast reply and warm welcome. I secured myself with another order as well as sent them an email.  just in case they don't refund, then I can simply refuse package and still get the deal.  if they do refund me, i can just tell them to cancel my new order.  the new order is shipping from city of industry, ca. last time was shipped from MEMPHIS, TN.  shipping is taking about 4 business days.  if shipped from CA, i probably got the item already because I'm from CA.  I guess I was lucky b/c they shipped from further away warehouse while this new price change came out.

How would you price match yourself?

I actually just PMed a moderator for the same issue, my price dropped 30 14 hours after I ordered, still havent received the item too.

 Anyone know how they re-imburse? Credit to your CC or a gift card?

Just PM me any info on a price change, including order number, and I will do what I can to get you reimbuirsed. Reimbursement goes back to the same card you used to pay.
