    Mini home theatre setup help

    I have a Gateway FHD2400 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824113012) and an Xbox 360.

I am going to plug the HDMI cables from Xbox to the screen, but i was wondering how i can get sound? I want to get these logitech x-530 speakers (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121126) for my laptop, and i wanted to see if i can get the xbox audio to play on them as well, what kind of adapter or plugs will i need to accomplish that?

Also, with my laptop (Macbook), is there any way I can get a TV tuner for it? Im going to be in college and they only have standard cable plugs.. I was thinking maybe something with the monitors component cables, but if you have any idea how i can get cable to work itd be awesome!

    Thanks in advance.

HDMI can carry sound by default

    Wikipedia:
HDMI also includes support for 8-channel uncompressed digital audio at 192 kHz sample rate with 24 bits/sample as well as any compressed stream such as Dolby Digital, or DTS. HDMI supports up to 8 channels of one-bit audio, such as that used on Super Audio CDs at rates up to 4x that used by Super Audio CD. With version 1.3, HDMI now also supports lossless compressed streams such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.

As for a macbook TV tuner, there are many USB tuners available. Smile

Wont that hdmi carried sound go to the crappy monitor speakers though? I wonder if theres a way to put xbox audio onto the logitech speakers?

And, that tv tuner--if its usb and it goes to the computer, can i put the picture from the tuner to the monitor if i have the plugs?

Er, my mistake. It seems the Xbox comes with HDMI 1.2 not 1.3. Read this: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/systemsetup/xbox360/accessories/hdavcable.htm and http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/systemsetup/xbox360/accessories/hdmicable.htm

Don't need plugs. You should be able to put the video on the monitor on the software level.
