I seem to be on a roll, watching slice-of-life type anime about otaku characters. Lucky Star, Haruhi, and now Genshiken.
This one plays up the otaku angle, actually being about a club called 'The Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture' (I think), where the members are all otaku who basically use the club as an excuse to hang out and watch anime, read manga, and play games. Part of the story is about one of the members, who has a normal girlfriend, and what she has to put up with, given her boyfriend's obsessions.
The art and animation are pretty good, but not 'Wow!' material. There's also not really any plot to speak of, just situational comedy. As such, it's really interesting and funny at parts, but a couple episodes just totally miss the mark and aren't funny at all.
Overall, I recommend it if you happen to like this sort of thing.
Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it.
Those who do know history repeat it anyway because they think they know better.
