Overclocking the bridge

    Overclocking the bridge

    Is there a way to get more out of your northbridge or southbridge?

    Is there a way to get more out of onboard graphics chips?

    1) Overclock. Does it automatically. Only if BIOS allows it.

    2) No.

    Maybe you can raise the memory shared if you have over 1gb of ram, but thats the max you can do.

    Gigabyte offers their "Turbographics" in the BIOS, but that seems about it. I only ask, b/c I would like to give some E=Mc2 to my southbridge, which handles the PCI-e x1 for the cable.

    Most igp's are not overclockable, but a few are it all comes down to what chipset and what bios.  I have a Gigabyte board (780G chipset) with a stock 500Mhz igp that is currently running at 900Mhz.  although it is quite rare to have the option in the bios for increasing the clock or the voltage of an igp.

    I've never tired it but would Riva Tuner work with onboard?

    I'll give a go to the memory shared. I have more than plenty ram.

    I don't have much experience with riva tuner, does anyone have anymore input on that?

    It looks like there is an option in the BIOS to adjust the PCI Express frequency...

    Which does not do ANYthing to affect the IGP because you're messing with the PCIE slot on the mobo.
