I have purchased an external DVD-rw drive for a
family member. When i tried it out at his house his computer was able to recognize it and it would work fine. When he tried it to have it work again, the
drive would not read the entire dvd. It will recognize that the dvd is in the
drive, but when you try to play it. It says it is unable to recognize it and that
it may be scratched. The dvds we have tried have all been brand new and have
never been played or only played once. When an audio cd is put in, it is able to
read and play it with no problem, it is only the dvds. I needed to test it out
on another computer so i took it to my home, when i plugged it in, it was able to
work fine. Does anyone know what could possibly be causing this problem?
