Why can't i delete my own post?

In post i wrote earlier i left a reply and then walked away from my computer and forgot to refresh the page then i left another reply stating the same thing when i refreshed and saw the two posts i tried to delete the second one and it says that you can't and a forum mod has to. I could see that if i was trying to delete someone else's post but it is my own why can't i delete my own posts. thats kind of dumb.

Yeah, think it's a limitation of the software. If you don't want what you wrote, even if doubel post, you can still go in and edit out the content. Allot do that, and just leave "darn, double post." LOL. Gotta remember, the Eggxpert program is still in Beta.

    Peace, Penewah!

When i knew i couldn't delete my own post at first, i felt a bit dumb as u. Well, it's ok now. I used to PM a mod and have 'em delete for me. But later i came to know i could go into the edit page, delete the original one and rewrite what i wanna. Thought it's not a biggy! Smile

Yeah, I know. If i write something i don't mean to and i don't have anything newly relevant I just type delete this post in the box and in a few hours it generally goes away. I was just venting had a bad day yesterday minus ordering stuff from Newegg.

You should be able to delete your own posts, I think it's just that you can't delete them within about 5-10 minutes of posting it.. (Seems strange, I know!!!)  But if you wait after that time, you should be able to delete it no problem, as long as it's not the first post in a thread and people have made replies to it (in which case, you don't really own the thread anymore as it's under shared ownership).
