Eeehaa [eehaa] Re: Pro Football Pool For Eggxperts

I noticed the old pool we used last year is up and running but I do not think anyone is actually running it since volfann was the one that started it last year so I assume it is still set up under his name/control.

Right now there are a total of 4 people that have made picks in it, which is not much of a pool.

Should we start up a new pool?  If so we better do it right away as the opening game is this Thursday night.  We can use the existing one, it is just that I do not think anyone would be administering it so there could be several issues that come up as a result.  If we want to start a new one we should do it right away.  I can start one up but after this post I will not see or be able to do anything on it until tomorrow evening so if someone else wants to go in and start one up before then that is fine with me.  This is the one we used last time:  http://football.sportsline.com/splash/football/spln/opm

I am signed up but I don't like to make picks too early.  Especially for the first games of the season.  Week1 is always a crapshoot.

I made my picks.  Only a handful of people have submitted their picks so far.  I don't know who took charge of the pool but its up and running.  Was somebody suppose to take charge?

It appears 8 people have made picks on the setup from last year.  I am not sure if new people can join it or not.  Has anyone tried to join it?  This post has the sign-in/log-in infos:  http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/permalink/385141/153580/ShowThread.aspx#153580

You do need to sign up with the CBSsportsline.  If it works as is we can just leave it alone and have easy victories over all the people that no longer visit.  Also if I remember right do not try to change picks after 1 hour before the first game as it will wipe out all your picks, not sure if you had not made any picks though.

wow, that was a boring game, well, the second half was.

The Red Skins looked terrible, they looked like a deer caught looking at headlights.  What is Zorn thinking?  Running all three times in the opening drive?

The O-line can't even hold off long enough for Cambell to throw.  If they want their QB to improve, the coaches have to totally revise their gameplan.   Their seconday is shot to h***.  They got burnt by Steve Smith and Burress.

The Giants looked good in the first half, their team was operating like a well oiled machine.  No TDs in the second half.  Eli looked like he was out of gas.

At least their defense held on but I want to see that defense go against a talented offense.

So far it looks like the Cowgirls, I mean Cowboys are for real and are the frontrunner in the NFC.

AFC looks to be wide open this season. I like Tennessee and Buffalo as sleeper picks to make the playoffs and shock people all year....

3 things that I know forsure.....Raiders/Cheifs/Rams all suck!!

I think the Titans have had a powder puff schedule so far, and some good teams are about to give them a reality check. But I was last in my picks last week, so waddu I know.

Titans still look good so far but the team that has caught my attention is the Panthers. If they stay healthy, this may be there year!

Re: Pro Football Pool For Eggxperts

Romo will be out (finger) for both the Giants and Skins matchups.  With NY up two games already (after tonight) is the NFC east as competitive as it was going into week 5?  I can see the 'boys going 8-8.  The Eagles without Westbrook will be lucky to play 500 ball once McNabb takes his annual injury break.  The Skins have a soft schedule with seattle, detroit, cincy, cleveland and SF still to play.

Also, it looks like the Giants have a tough schedule ahead.  Only four of their remaining games are against teams with losing records so far. (ravens eaglesx2 and 49ers) with tough games against Pitt, car, arizona, washington and dallas.  They may be 5-0 after tonight, but only one of those games was against a team that is any good and they may have caught the skins unprepared on opening day.

We could see NY 11-5, Washington 11-5, Dallas 8-8, Philadelphia 7-9  with a tiebreaker deciding who wins the division.

Edit: OK I spoke too soon.  Sorry for the jinx Gmen.

I think you mean Lions or Bengals #1 pick.  Must have something to do with big cats this year.  Either way I wonder if the new brass in Detroit will continue Millen's penchant for drafting wide receivers.  Just because Millen is gone I don't expect them to get much better at football operations or play.  This is a team that has won 1 playoff game in the last 50 years.

If Tony Gonzales is traded this season, you can count on a KC # 1 choice 2009, 2010, 2011. haha
