Thanks man.  Believe it or not, it came in just under $2500 bucks, so not too bad.  And I said realtek, but I think thats just the audio driver.  This link http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.aspx?Image=13-127-237-02.jpg%2c13-127-237-03.jpg%2c13-127-237-04.jpg%2c13-127-237-05.jpg%2c13-127-237-06.jpg%2c13-127-237-07.jpg%2c13-127-237-08.jpg&CurImage=13-127-237-05.jpg&Depa=0&Description=ABIT+Fatal1ty+AN9+32X+Socket+AM2+NVIDIA+nForce+590+SLI+MCP%2fSPP+190+ATX+AMD+Motherboard+-+Retail  shows the plug in card as an audiomax HD 7.1.

I have been pretty happy with my computer.  Seems the more upgrades I do to it, the slower it gets, but who knows?  I think I will probably scale back the hard drive space and get higher performance hard drives.  I don't find myself needing tons of space.

Re: *Sticky* What is in your Rig?

My "rig" is essentially my HP dv5000t notebook.  I'm a college student, it works out pretty well.

As for desktops, I have two P4 folding rigs in my dorm room (flat rate tuition = I don't care about a power bill).

    Rig 1:

     Pentium 4B 3.06 Northwood @ 3.2~Ghz (stock volts)

Masscool socket 478 HSF (works pretty well)

     Gigabyte IPE1000 (865 chipset)

    1GB Kingston DDR-266 ECC

    $20 Xabre something-or-other video card

     420w Thermaltake Purepower

80GB WD IDE hard drive (model is irrelevant in this case)

Old manilla white case I had laying around

    Ancient generic 48x CD-ROM

    LG DVD-ROM

Ancient Yamaha PCI sound card (merely for offloading sound from the CPU)

Rig 2 (old "broken" Gateway I got for free):

    Pentium 4C 2.6Ghz Northwood

    Stock Gateway HSF

     Gateway motherboard (865 chipset)

     Integrated video at the moment

    512MB generic DDR-333

Cheapest generic 320w PSU I could find on Newegg

20GB WD IDE hard drive (ooooold)

I have a 3500+ rig at home I gave to my little sister to use.  Better than both of those...by far...I'm nice like that.

When i got an x-fi card it made a huge difference in processor load of games.  Will take away when explosions really start going off, just a bottleneck on your system.  You could prolly get away without it since you do have two 8800gtx cards.  Yeah thats good shopping, but still out of my budget.  Any onboard audio is gonna slow down your system regardless, so if your into games its a good upgrade.

Im still waiting for someone to post thier pics of thier Zalman Tower with water cooling.  Those are Fxing SWEET!

was going to upgrade   a while back but decided to wait until AMD released a CPU that will compete will with the core 2 line. then  all of the core 2 prices and AMD prices will further go down allowing me to get something really high end for cheap.

The system worked perfectly for 3-1/2 weeks.  Then I started getting some strange "COM" error (can't remember the exact error).  I thought it was something to do with Windows Vista and didn't have time to trouble shoot so I let it ride.  2 weeks later, some of the USB ports stopped working.  I started trouble shooting by removing some peripherals, restarted the PC and it wouldn't post.  Removed all unnecessary parts and tried again... no post.  My first thought was the motherboard had a short but couldn't get it to post out of the chassis.  I did all I could with the parts I had and couldn't get it up so I took it to a local shop to have the parts tested.  They think it's the MB as well.  Unfortunately NewEgg won't take back an Intel MB so I'm gonna have to deal directly with Intel... fun fun...

** UPDATE** - The problem was the motherboard.  New one is in and everything is back to normal :-)
