I would really be interested in a high quality recording setup.

It would need a good mixer, a high quality Microphone, monitor speakers, headphones, a midi controller, sequencing software, and an audio interface.

I would be willing to pay more for some quality stuff. No cheapo stuff for me.

I don't believe NewEgg has a say in that as that is more of an industry wide pricing problem.

About 3 years ago, the memory industry used to "fix" the prices right before moving all their manuf. over to the new technology so that the prices would remain stable.. But then they got slammed for price fixing and not following supply & demand.. yadda-yadda-yadda..  So now that they're no longer being manuf. and the real money is in DDR3, the prices of DDR2 will likely continue to increase from this point onward..

The result: A memory pricing that's much more in line with supply & demand... Since DDR2 is no longer being made by just about anybody, it's pretty much a given that supply goes down and prices go up.. I saw this coming over a year ago..  Hence why I've always recommended people to make an early switch to DDR3 if they could..  But more people are concerned about the *NOW* rather than the later and so they can enjoy their high priced DDR2 now.. DDR2, IMO, is a sinking ship at this late in the game, and I wouldn't buy more of it at this point.. I'd be selling it on ebay and making boat loads of cash..

    Onboard RAID vs. 3Ware RAID

I never recommend people run RAID-5 with onboard chipsets.

Re: Newegg Black Friday 2009 - Deal Request Thread

Over the last month or two I've replaced my system, piece by piece. And yes, it's all been through Newegg. There are still a few things that I'd love to add to it, and if they're on sale for Black Friday, you can bet I will:

-Solid State Drives, I'm not too concerned with the size, I'd love to boot Win7 from one of these, and watch things really scream.

-DDR3 Ram: I'm running 2x2gb of Crucial 1333 ram... And if the price was right, I'd double it up for the more intensive video\image editing I do.

-Video cards: I'd really like to see some deals on the Radeon 5 series. I know the 58x0's are selling out, but it's be cool to see some deals on anything other than the 5770(Just not worth the upgrade in my opinion). And if Nvidia actually has a new card out by then (Rumors are still flying on that side too) I'd like to see a good deal on it. I've got an entry level card, but it seems like a lot of the higher end stuff is just so pricey for a single component.

These would definitely grab my attention, and I'd be likely to snag a few other things while I was at it as well. ^_^

nVidia won't have anything new out for a while yet.  They're planning to launch the new GT300 series next May, if all goes well.  This isn't new news, Charlie Demerjian on Semi Accurate wrote a news article back in August, saying that this would happen.  take a look:

    http://www.semiaccurate.com/2009/11/02/nvidia-finally-gets-fermi-a2-taped-out/

     http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/1561640/nvidia-fermi-delayed

But, I definitely agree on the Radeon 5xxx sales.  I'd really like to get a Radeon 5850, but only if the price is lower.  Obviously prices will come down once nVidia launches new cards in May(hopefully), so I'd imagine there are a lot of people waiting for that price drop.  If newegg drops the Radon 5850 price on black friday, they can get a bunch of those people who are on the fence to buy cards now, rather then sometime next year.

$70 for a 1TB external isn't really anything special.  I bought a Hitachi 1TB hard drive months ago for $60AR, and then I got one of these USB/eSATA hard drive docks for $10AR, both with free shipping.

    How about a 1TB 7200RPM HD for $50?  or a 1.5tb external drive for around $80.

Don't know if this is where I ask. I'm a newbie. Wanted to buy an HP Pavillion Elite E9260F on line, but no info on included software. On cust service was told to contact HP for info. I did, found out many different SW choices available depending on your choice of upgrade. How do I find out exactly what is on the box I want to order? Dikdok

Re: Newegg Black Friday 2009 - Deal Request Thread

This likely will be the hardware Christmas Season of the SSD. From reading several computer forums and deal sites, plenty of consumers seem to have cash in hand waiting for good SSD deals.

It would be great to see Newegg work in conjunction with OCZ and Intel on good deals after rebates, on the: Vertex 120 and 60, Agility 120 and 60, and X25-M G2 80GB.

I know many are also hoping for a repeat of the highly advertised Shellshocker deal involving the Kingston SSDNow V Series 40GB for $85 after rebate. This would be a fairly nice good will gesture. The Kingston 40GB quickly sold out after only a few hours in the dead of night.
