overclocked to 3.6ghz like a dream im still new at it.. but i didnt have to mess with vcore voltage i just bumped it up a notch just to be safe and temps are all around 40 deg C at idle... some say thats a lil high.. but i cant complain considering stock speeds are 2.8ghz
im running 4 sticks of Gskill Ripjaws DDR3 1600mhz... no issues at all.. i input the timings and the frequency with a 1T comand rate and shes still holding those timings at 3.6ghz .. so far so good ..
i just got done messing around with crysis... and im getting 20-30 FPS at 16xQ AA and 40-50 FPS 8x AA on Very high.. 1920x1200
i dont think my motherboard was bad if you happend to sift through this post i just sent it back just incase.. so i wouldnt be set back another 2 weeks.. it was a bad stick of Gskill ... i put everything together ... set FSB and Mem to unlinked.. set the ram to expert entered the timings 8-8-8-24 1T @1.65v set the FSB to 1700mhz bumped up the Vcore one or two notches ... and then set the rest Nbridge, Sbridge, etc all in the first green setting and saved and it booted first time.. no issues.. in fact i was very impressed with windows 7 i had been using a 750i , windows 7 recognized my raid array and booted from it no issues at all.. i reinstalled the motherboard and graphics card drivers just to be safe and defragged the hard drive. rebooted and ran those test... im pretty happy to say the least considering the bad luck i was having..
now looking back i am dead set that the 750i was the culprit of all of my problems... i am getting about 30- 50 more FPS in world of warcraft compared to what i was getting yesterday.. i did a 5 man heroic just to test it out and it blazed it up at well over 100 FPS most of the run.. standing still it was rollin at 170-190 FPS.. during fights was around 80 fps now that was just a five man the real test will be in a 25 man raid...
