It is insane how much RAM has dropped in the past 2 years let alone the last year. 2 gigabyte pairs at this time last year were 140$ now they are 40$ its unbelievable.

    Coolermaster RC-690 l Silverstone DA850w l EVGA 750i FTW l Intel q6600 @ 3.0Ghz (free from newegg sponsorship last fall) l Tuniq Tower 120 l XFX GTX 260 l 2GB DDR2 800 @ 4-4-4-10 l Samsung 500GB SATA 3.0gbs

Wish they come down some on the faster speeds though. And as you may know, DDR3 is ridiculous, and is called "being held up without a gun!"

    Penewah!

    Re: 4GB DDR2 800 $99

Yeah, DDR2-800 is slow compared to the top of the line DDR3-1800 or however fast the memory goes now.  I Just don't like how the DDR3 memory modules have 7 or 9ms latency...that's like a hard drive.

    Re: 4GB DDR2 800 $99

I wish DDR3 dropped at fast as DDR2. I remembered when I got my first 2GB kit, it was $60 after rebate and even that was a deal since most 2GB kits were $100 - $110+. Especially mine since they're CL4.

We'll be seeing more and more DDR3 drop as time flys by. Hopefully they get more and more affordable and faster.

For my next rig that I'm building within a couple weeks, I'll be Dropping in a 4GB (2X 2GB Set) OCZ CL4 for the price of $80-$90.

    Parts Still Missing:
    Gigabyte or ASUS P45 Motherboard
    OCZ or Corsair 2x 1GB DDR2 800
    Seagate 7200.11 32Mb Cache 500GB Hard Drive
    EVGA 8800GTS 512MB (G92)

    Re: 4GB DDR2 800 $99

The best DDR3 for the price I have found so far are the ReaperX from OCZ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227276

it has the lowest Latency for the price 6 compared to 8-9.

    Re: 4GB DDR2 800 $99

OCZ have always been a good Memory supplier. They offer competitive pricing, relatively low speeds and high capacity of the modules.  I've always been a OCZ Supporter.

    Re: 4GB DDR2 800 $99

I'm glad to see that 4Gig memory modules are now available.  Under $99 would be nice but I'm sure it will be soon.  I'm looking into building some quad core systems with lots of memory so I can work with system virtualization.  Quite a few motherboards boast 16G+ memory max but have only 4 slots.  Putting 2 Gig units in or smaller seems just plain silly.  (for me anyway)  Wacko

It's a sweet deal - I just ordered the $89 G.Skill--I've had good luck with the brand.

Jeez, this one is an even better deal--less than $80 after rebate for a good one:
