    I joined about a month ago, and am up to 16th now.  GPU really helps!!  I also installed this on my wife's machine, but the GPU fan spins up to 100% and she doens't like the noise so i just run it at night or when she isn't home.

    Well I've got a 4890 on the way but wont be folding with it. Not worth the increased electric bill for only another 3000 ppd. I wish they would finish making a good ATI client.

    Was gunna get a gtx 260 or 275 but managed to get the 4890 for 184 shipped. Still not too sure if i'm happy with my choice.

    Just hope stanford figure out how to utilize 100% shader power on ATI gpu then the HD 4890 will make you happy camper.

    Onboard RAID vs. 3Ware RAID

    I never recommend people run RAID-5 with onboard chipsets.

    Don't worry in the summer time I only fold with my CPU, so you guys at the top don't have to worry at all except dmek who doesn't fold anymore.

    ya once I need to start using the AC I won't be able to run both rigs 24/7. I can probably move one into the server rack at work without any one noticing.
