exclusiveburner:Samsung and LG are great brands, and they are very popular because people make them popular. People on forums claim "this is the best" then so and so goes out and buys "this". BenQ is a great brand, great quality, and Hanns-G is as well. I would put them right up there but I think its their actual Name that holds them back.
For reference, BenQ uses AUO (AU Optronics) panels. AUO is the worlds #3 largest TFT panel manufacturer, trailing behind Samsung and LG-Philips.
I personally can't comment on BenQ's panels as I haven't used them much, so in cases like this I'd generally recommend to look exactly what type of panel is being used.
I recently found another article that explains TFT panel types. Yes, Wiki isn't always 100% accurate, but its a decent reference point for understanding part of the technologies:

Before purchasing any LCD screen, I would first do some research to find out exactly what type of panel you're buying.
