    I bet Pentium Dual Cores and Core 2 Duo's are here to stay because they are sufficient for like 80% of the population that only uses computers for Word, web surfing etc. and those CPUs will get cheaper and cheaper so long as Intel keeps making them!

    Actually IMHO, the price drop now occurring on the Core 2 Quads combined with the software/ compilers that are finally starting to take advantage of multiple cores will probably spell the end of the dual core...except for a limited release of dual cores that constitute defective quad cores where two are still functioning.
