Metal is my favorite genre of music. I mostly listen to black metal, although I do enjoy death metal and thrash as well. Some of my favorites are Negură Bunget, Enslaved, Immortal, Behemoth, Mayhem and many others.

    Re: Metal

Of course, oh kindred banger of heads; raiser of horns; mosher of pits; growler of vocals; blaster of beats. You really didn't think you were alone here, did you?

I am quite fond of Black Metal, but those that are musically inclined... not the whiney neo-euro garage bands that spout out the same trite lyrics & strum like Sid Vicious on crack. I like Death Metal too, as well as some gore, doom, and folk-style black metal. My favorite band, of all time, is Emperor. I beleive Ihsahn is a musical genius, and I will follow his works until the man ceases to compose & cannot physically play anymore.

I ask the questions rather than provide the answers.

Now it's a lot of horrible singing with tiring  and repeatitive drumming.

Like Devildriver? Arch Enemy? Hehehe...yes I feel you.

Yeah, I agree with both of you, most popular metal nowadays is horrible.  You gotta go underground for most of the good stuff.  Although some of the better bands that were formerly underground are starting to gain much more mainstream respect (Behemoth is a very good example of that, same with Dragonforce).

Very good taste indeed, Mayhem's "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" is definitely one of my favorite albums.

Love Metal.  Nothing like it to take all the aggression out & get you to really relax.  Just don't blast Cannibal Corpse while trying to place your CPU in your computer I've seen what happens Devil

I just seen Slayer last summer & Iron Maiden this past fall.  I'll be seeing Type O Negative in a few weeks on 5-8.  Can't wait.
