Re: how much have you overclocked your processor

In the past 3 weeks Ive had the cpu up to 3.8ghz but it was not stable, if you can run your computer at 3.6, Josh, i would leave it, i cant get mine stable past 3.583ghz anymore, on my new board, the gigabyte board did much better, i wish i would have gotten another board, paid 250$ for my p3k3 deluxe at compusa. but i like the fact that its stable at 3.55ghz and I have raid now, im thinking of getting 1066mhz ram, my friend thats a vp at micron quoted some ballistix pc8500 at 75$ for 2x1gb kit so i might go for it and take my board back next week and order a gigabyte p35-dsr board.  What would u do if your were me, i would keep the settings you have already, and I dont think cpu's are maxed out except the high end cpu's, IMO, you wait on a cpu product line to come out, find the lowest cpu with the same specs as the top of the line meaning cache size and fsb and buy that one, o/c clock it and be done with it, what about u guys?

Re: how much have you overclocked your processor

I agree, that the 3.6Ghz is the optimal setting for me. I was just fooling around and came up with 3.6Ghz... stable under prime. But then I spent hours to try and achieve a 3.7 or 3.8 overclock and could not do it. Right now I set my speed at 402 x 9. with almost all the old setting but one of them I put back to default.

I am very happy with my setup, a 50.75% overclock is not that bad Guns

I have two more gigs of RAM to put in my system, I hope it works.

I would not invest in better RAM. at 5:6 ratio which is still considered I am runnings at 965DDR2 speeds, so I don't think better RAM would help, but maybe I don't know what I am talking about.

    Good luck.

Re: how much have you overclocked your processor

im running @1:1 ratio, at 398mhz fsb, it wont go any higher on this board i have so im stuck with it, but it is stable, i am backing it down to 3.55 pushing the volts back down to try to get back to 28-32c

Re: how much have you overclocked your processor

I was told that the best two ratios, are 1:1 and 1:1.2, I figure since you can go faster with 1:1.2 it should be better.

I run at 29 - 32 idle and I have seen it go as high as 57C on load running prime. Abit Pro P35, Ballistix Tracer DDR2800, Q6600 (OEM), very happy with these components.   I purchased a Cooler Master GeminII and I like it.

The very first thing I do when I set up an XP machine is get rid of the hideous color and appearance theme and make it look like 2000. At least it got a little better in Vista.

With the latest beta bios with my mobo, I have the Vcore set a 1.4350 and it registers at 1.37 (Abit Pro P35 has a Vcore drop problem..., doesn't seem to effect anything?   MCH at 1.41, CPU VVT 1.23, cpu gtref at 69%, ddr2 2.2, ichio 1.5, ddr2 ref +2%, and I am able to achieve 3.6Ghz and I pass prime 1024 test.

I feel I am not even pushing this system. My temps are at 32 and go as high as 57, I don't feal I am pushing it.

I just got my new build off the ground.  E6750 @2.66ghz oc'ed to 3.53ghz (440x8).  It runs around 36C idle and goes up to 57C or so under Prime.  Normal abuse it gets around 46-47C.  Not bad for air cooling I don't think.  I'll post some pics later tonight.

Good Lord. What is that, phase change cooling, or do you contract Jack Frost? I've not seen any reviews of the Q6600 that can get it that far, no matter their cooling system.

cant we all just be like an immature forum and yell "FAKE!" at the first sign of something as wickedly awesome as that? Show us some pics of yur cooling.. its gotta be liquid nitrogen lol

edit: wait...how do you get a x11 multiplier? do you just have to have a really good mobo that can do it or is that a cpu limitation?

My P5N32-E SLI will allow me to change the multiplier on my Q6600 from 1-50. Not so sure how well it would work...

I'm pretty sure that the multiplier's are completely unlocked on the 6600 cpus regardless of motherboard type.

I have overclocked my Quad FX-74s to 3.3ghz, simply by raising the multiplier 1, but that's as far as I am able to get them, as only an 0.5 volt increase is available in the bios.
