Re: jsv35's Budget Picks $$$
Nice work on that build! I think I'd recommend people to see if they could afford the 80% efficiency PSU before dropping it for a lower efficiency one. I don't really like that case as much as some Rosewill ones out there, but the case is totally a personal thing. I thought it'd be nice for a small mid-tower for that build, otherwise there are some good Rosewill models. I did that build pretty quickly, I think I will take some of your ideas and implement them in and take a little more time on it. Thanks!

Re: jsv35's Budget Picks $$$
Looks like people are listening to you, jsv35. That M2N-E's gone up almost 15 dollars is the past three or four days, sitting at 113.99 at the moment. The egg's prices reflect stock(right?), so you must be doing something right. Soon enough they're gonna commission you to push certain parts for them, haha.

Re: jsv35's Budget Picks $$$
Haha, that's awesome. I saw that and had to change my builds a little :( So they cut the AMD X2 prices, but raised the mobo prices :P @ CAGG muhahaha, its all your fault too, you stickied it! BTW I'd love to partner up to do a forum! haha

Re: jsv35's Budget Picks $$$
Next week I plan to build a system with a 5000+ B.E, If it really pushes 3.5+ on cheap water, like some of the claims say, I might have to request you toss it into a build.

Re: jsv35's Budget Picks $$$
Nice! How much will you be putting into this thing? Out of that amount, how much are you going to spend on the cooling? the ABIT IP35-E went up in price too, hmm

Re: jsv35's Budget Picks $$$
Going to put about 850USD into it. 60USD is going to the cooling, gonna grab a Zalman. I'm not going to go ahead and spend the extra cash to put water in it if it turns out the 5000+ isn't an ace like the article said. But, if it turns out I've got headroom, and temps are holding me back, I'll grab a setup from Petra's, and let you know what happens.

Re: jsv35's Budget Picks $$$
My outlook on WC: If you're gonna blow $200 on cooling, you better have a flagship processor to begin with. I dont see why people get E2180's and spend 300 dollars cooling them, when they could get a $60HSF and an E6750. Odds are, that E6750 on air will OC higher than that E2180 you're drowning anyway.
Water cooling is for: - Extreme OC's of flagship processors
- Case Bling.

Re: jsv35's Budget Picks $$$
Thank you - this has been extremely helpful. I had been thinking of purchasing a new PC but I may consider building one. The configurations you've listed are a good starting point. I've just recently starting reading these forums and I'm very impressed with the technical knowledge of this community.

Re: jsv35's Budget Picks $$$
On your $1200 budget intel build, theres no need for a 750w PSU since you got a P35 mobo and you can't SLI, good build otherwise that.

Thanks for pointing that out, I've changed it up a little bit. Now the build is SLI and Crossfire Ready.

np, build looks great now maybe you can go even further with it like a $2000 budget build.

Re: jsv35's Budget Picks $$$
jsv35 you did a great job in making the budget rigs.
its helping me a lot in deciding on what to get for a new machine. too bad i can't decide on intel or AMD right now with a 700$ rig

Re: jsv35's Budget Picks $$$
Thanks, glad to hear it! Well both builds are very close performing but I'd have to give the hand to the Intel one. It is insanely overclockable and has the P35 chipset leaving it possibly to upgrade to Penryns and whatever else is left for the LGA 775 socket. You don't think you can swing the extra $100 for the 8800GT? haha

Re: jsv35's Budget Picks $$$
Yeah... you are right.
It's just that I have been an AMD fan for a long time and it's hard to switch... like going from PC to MAC. thats a whole new story. I know that Intel is the better this time around.... just annoying that AMD and into swing back and forth of who is on top.

Re: jsv35's Budget Picks $$$
Great builds. Based some of my PC off of your $700 AMD build... really great pc :D Oh, and you might want to add a heat sink for your $800 AMD build though... The AMD Black Editions don't include a stock heat sink cooler. Just a reminder!
