    Re: Shuttle Case Mod Contest!

    Count me in. I have a question though;

I'm assuming this does not have to be a working computer. Nothing in the rules said it needed to have components inside however almost all the gallery shots have components. Also, one of the criteria we will be judged on is functionality, I hope this means functionality of the case, not the computer inside.

Just wanted to clear that up.

     Thanks

    That's what she said...

    Re: Shuttle Case Mod Contest!

Thank you very much  Unicorn for your confidence.

One thing I really enjoy is sharing my ideas with others, (I secretly hope someone will take one of my ideas and improve on it)

One of the cool things about contests is you never know what the company is looking for,

EVERYONE go for it, give it a try.

(Thumbs are important too, I hear they are what separate us from monkeys.Yes)

    Re: Shuttle Case Mod Contest!

I don't want to sound negative but shouldn't this kinda thing be free? You are using up your own time and talent to create something new, exciting and functional. Then you know they are likely going to take your design.

You have to pay $10 wow?!!

    Re: Shuttle Case Mod Contest!

That was my first thought till I read the contest info. the $10 ($5 at Newegg Lan) to cover shipping to you.

Quote: Shuttle will provide the G2 case to all participants

    Re: Shuttle Case Mod Contest!

There are no country rules mentioned, but since Canada is mentioned in the PDF file I assume it's open to Canadians as well.

Anyone know if the $10 shipping fee applies to Canada as well? I'd hate to fax the form in and then get a $50 charge on my credit card.

    Re: Shuttle Case Mod Contest!

Im sure as long as you choose the standard shipping you will be fine.

    Re: Shuttle Case Mod Contest!

I sent Shuttle an email and the reply I got back said: " For Canada the fee will be $25 (includes $50 value aluminum case cover and shipping). Waiting on another reply to see if it's the whole case or just a case cover they're sending.

I received a reply and what Shuttle will be sending participants is a case cover and not the entire case Tongue Tied

Maybe they should rephrase that "Shuttle will provide the G2 case to all participants" line. I think everyone is under the impression that  they will be receiving a complete case.

So if they are only sending a case cover I guess it doesn't need to be a functional PC.

thanks SlugBug for finding out and letting us know. There is a lot here that is unknown and it is nice to have someone help clear it up.

    Re: Shuttle Case Mod Contest!

Anyone who faxes in the form please reply back with what Shuttle sends you, a case cover or a complete case. They told me a case cover, but they haven't changed any info on their contest page yet.

And you call urself a modder? BooHoo

Step up its only $10 and the prizes are pretty darn good. Besides how hard is it gonna be to make the other panels?

    (thats what modders do)

    EVERYONES ideas matter......

    Re: Shuttle Case Mod Contest!

The point is that Shuttle's contest page still reads: Shuttle will provide the G2 case to all participants. Nowhere does it say anything about a case cover. If they do send you just a case cover, you should remind them that their contest page specifies a G2 case and not a case cover.

OK if it is just the case cover, not including the front panel frame or tray is what i am trying to figure out..........

no one knows wtf is being sent, so i am having second thoughts about entering a case contest where all i am gonna get is a soda can 3 side panel cover to go on top of a case.....

well to be more clear it sounds like this: you enter a antec case mod contest, your pay thier fee and get your side panel from one of thier cases, no u have to build the rest of the case.............. because all they sent was a side panel ??  If they send u just the case im fine or the frame for the case even better. but to send me just a panle from the case doesnt make sence to enter... now rules arnt that clear do I have to make a working computer or just make then a badd a** panel with cool tweeker toys...

so i will ask agian if any one has recived the "g2 case" yet and if so what did they send you to mod?

    Re: Shuttle Case Mod Contest!

Did anyone here go to the NewEgg LANfest2K7 and notice what Shuttle was providing?

edit: just read the press release and saw this:

Case covers are available at the Shuttle booth at the LANfest event.

I was told they would be editing the Shuttle will provide the G2 case to all participants wording on the Contest Summary and Rules page. Of course that was two days ago and they haven't changed it yet.Confused

OK have u entered the contest, I talked wiht a few freinds about just getting the "cover" if i enter and am having serious doubts on if i should enter the contest or not. reason for my doubts is it takes time to mod a case and make it look professional in the first place, even if u have a full case to start with it takes around two weeks to do it right. now that is if you have the frame for the case. but if all you have is a cover, U have to then design a frame, make a front panel, rear panel ( with all those lovley cut outs to match the mobo you are going to use). to me and how detailed I get, I cant take away from my clientell and mod a case from scratch. with a 1 in lets say 20mill chance of winning a computer system.

hopefully some one can shead soem light on what they are really sending........................

No I haven't registered. I also don't know how I would build the rest of the case. I'm not exactly a modding guru like some guys seem to be.

    Re: Shuttle Case Mod Contest!

You 2 guys seem to be making this much harder than it is. Im pretty sure Shuttle is not gonna send out one of their $300 cases with PS and mobo for $10.

Most likely what they are doing is sending a shell for you to mod into whatever style you want. Than they want you to take 4 picts of the shell and enter it into the contest.

This seems to be a pretty easy way to compete without having to buy a case and all the hardware inside as well.

    Re: Shuttle Case Mod Contest!

Received an email from eWiz today advertising the E FOR ALL show at the LA Convention Center which starts tomorrow. Here's what the ad says:

"We will also be the  official drop off point for the Shuttle Case Design Contest. Drop $5 for the application fee and we'll give you a free case."

So if they're not giving a case then why do they continue to advertise that they do. Their contest page still says the G2 case will be supplied.
