From the pic SergeiV posted, it looks cool. I'm at work and don't have a flash player so I can't look at the link you posted right now.

How'd you make the case? Did you bend it by hand?

Thanks Capt. No I used to work for a heating and A/C company as a sheet metal fabricator and then ran the shop and the plasma cutter/computer programimg system and since we parted on good terms I asked a small favor of the owner to let me use his equipment during lunch break and bent it and shaped it and sheared it to size. now its a matter of cutting the holes and then getting the sides welded, in then sand it, seal it, mount everything in to it and install my system into the rig. I will be adding more pictures as I get things done it just takes time and money.Yes

    Re: Here's My DIY Case

The only 'problem' that I might forsee is the rear fan. The vent itself is very restrictive and will cause more noise to be made than necesary, and also will lessen the airflow.

    Re: Here's My DIY Case

Believe it or not I bought them at Radio Shack along with the lcd lights for $10, then I picked up some used parts to solder in the right connectors for the mobo and a front headset & mic connector for $5. Yes Sergei it could have been a problem but with 7 fans I will arange for proper airflow it should be alright in the long run.

    Re: Here's My DIY Case

I had a RAIDMAX case that had restrictive rear vents, and it made the fans 2-3 times louder.

Looks like you're a tinkerer like me. I've modified (mangled Big Smile ) many a case to my own liking and enjoy doing it. I also make my wire bundles to suite whatever I want, need. Messy wireing nauseates me. Seems you might have to do some of that with your DYI box. Really neat project you have going on. Looking forward to seeing more as you progress!

    Re: Here's My DIY Case

Not so much a tinkerer as a man that has a better idea and is not afraid to run it from start to finish. I have  several years in studying drafting, I'm a retiered aircraft electrician from the military and I have worked as a sheet metal fabricator for 5 or 6 years and done many other odd jobs to get me by in leaner times. I now follow my hobbies of building computers and Bass fishing. I do plan on keeping the pics coming as I get more done but I'm in no hurry and I'd like this build to last a long time.
