Games nowadays are boring. Not much is holding my interest. I got to thinking about a few games that I used to play back in the day. Here is a couple that I still remember.

re: What Classic Games Have You Played?

i play starcraft, Diablo, warcraftIII and world of warcraft :)

Or was it Skifree? But then Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Quake (I think Quake is better than Doom), and you are just like me Whitelotus! Command & Conquer is the best! I have all the C&Cs. The big disappointment for me so far was Red Alert 3: Uprising... that wasn't that great. MechWarriors was fun as well, Duke Nukem 3D, one of the best flying games for me was Terminal Velocity (or Fury3, same thing). =P.

-Diablo 2/Starcraft

-Nintendo 64 "Classic" games (StarFox, Golden Eye, Mario Cart, Zelda, Mortal Combat, etc)

...I need to go find me a Nintendo 64 now.

Tried Supreme Commander which was supposed to be the new-age version of that game and was slightly disappointed. The graphics are impressive but the game runs slow and is a little slow-paced itself. I would gladly take poorer graphics if it meant faster gameplay. Maps are a little overwhelming in size sometimes.

I too feel like new games aren't as fun as the old ones... Too much focus on new features and better graphics and not enough on making a game addicting and challenging or simply a blast to play. Don't get me wrong, there are some out there but I think too much of the market is full of games that aren't worth full price.

Panzer General: Turn based strategy game with maps that were meticulously designed to be as geographically accurate as the technology would allow. The units were also historically accurate as far as the armaments, fuel, ammo, etc. and the icons were reasonable facsimiles of the actual military unit. Playing it on the PlayStation sucked because it was too "zoomed in" and pixalated... Its best on the PC and NOT the DOS 1.3 version. I still have a PC copy and play it from time to time... Its absolutely timeless.

Carnage Heart: Where to begin... It was only available on Playstation and came with two discs. Its like a mech warrior game... except you actually have to "program" your mechs (by using chips placed on memory cards) to autonomously do battle... The programming of your mechs is so complicated, the second disc is a tutorial disc to walk you through the very tedious (but if you're smart very rewarding) process. There are several mech bodies to choose from and about 100,000 combination of weapons and armor. Once you've designed your bots, you have to put them into production and the game is turn based from there. You have to use your money to invest in new technology and produce mechs to expand your territory. As turns go by, you learn new technologies and your bots come off the assembly lines ready to be sent into battle. Its NOT a game for those with Short Attention Spans or players who want instant gratification or even non-stop battles. Its serious strategy on multiple levels and only those who are incredibly patient and enjoy the meticulous "programming" of bots will have fun playing the game.

Great game and I started to play it again last winter. All you need is DOS Box and you are all set to play it, well and the game but that is free online. I recommend that to everyone.

Then for the C&Cs, I picked up Red Alert 2 and Generals a little bit ago, but I can't stand the resolutions, so I stopped

I owned them on their original system, and now I own them on GBA. That being said, today's gamers have it easy... the original Zelda is excruciatingly hard, but SOOO much fun. Maybe the casualness in modern games is what turned you off.
