I've rented well over 200 movies so far and although I've had a few of them come scratched & unplayable, I must say that Netflix's service can't be beat.. I have been wanting to hear another opinion on the NetFlix throttling issue.

From what I have read, NetFlix is just awesome and I will probably jump in within a few months.

[edit] "Throttling" and the Chavez lawsuit

Netflix's allocation policy—referred to by many as "throttling"—gives priority shipping and selection to customers who rent the fewest discs per month. Higher volume renters may see some of their shipments delayed, sent across country, or sent out of order.[28] Netflix currently claims that "the large majority of our subscribers are able to receive their movies in about one business day following our shipment of the requested movie from their local distribution center."[29] However, not all shipments come from the subscriber's local distribution center. Shipments from distant centers are often delayed, as well.

In September, 2004, a consumer class action lawsuit, Frank Chavez v. Netflix, Inc,[30] was brought against Netflix in San Francisco Superior Court. The suit alleged false advertising, in relation to claims of "unlimited rentals" with "one-day delivery." In January 2005, Netflix changed its "Terms of Use" to acknowledge what has commonly become known as "throttling." (Mike Kaltschnee, owner of the Hacking Netflix blog, says Netflix calls this practice "smoothing" internally

First they sent me the wrong movies in the wrong envolope. I asked for a old steve mcqueen movie, but instead they sent me the correct CD envolope with the correct year and name of movie, but with the wrong DVD in side. They sent me a remake of the movie. They done this about three times with three different movies and still never sent me the correct movie, even after i e mailed them and called them on the phone. BlockBuster.com has the worst customer service on the planet thet i know of. I am not joking around, i am very serious about this. Month and months later i decided to give blockbuster.com another try. But this time around a whole nightmare happened. Instead of getting my movies shipping out the next day like before, it took three to four days for them to ship me a movie. I even up graded to the 4 DVDs per month, but still i was only getting two movies per week. I returned my DVD's to the instore every single time so the services would be faster. But still i was only getting two movies per week. One of the movies was never even logged in to their system as being returned until 29 days later. They said i must check my q list of out going movies every single day to make sure. Who in the world has time to mess around with q lists every single day? I asked for a month free membership to make up for their 29 day big mistake and for only getting two movies per week. But they would only give me a two week free membership, Then the customer service agent was speaking to me in a rude, intimidating and threating manner, I was shocked. I was actually almost scared after i got off the phone. I strongly believe they hire these customer service agents to be as rude and intimidating as possible for reasons. After had to beg to get the higher manager on the phone, after she got on the phone, she said there was nothing she could do for me. I told her i am canceling my membership, She said if you do you will NEVER be able to join blockbuster.com again. Dude, people, BLOCKBUSTER.COM should be reported.

I am going to finally give Net flex a chance, I never tried Netflex before. But i read good reviews about Netflex. If Netflex does not work out, then forget it, ill just buy the damn movies.

Then you have to wait even longer. It is just easier for me to go to the store and rent it from there or rent it from my cable company.

Netflix was great for getting those older movies and shrinking them, but it isn't worth it. Blockbuster still keeps a great in store selection.

I canceled my account with netflix about four months ago and haven't missed it since.
