How to Post Youtube Videos

Would you like to post up a YouTube video? Here is the step by step, do it yourself, run book.

First, find a video (or create your own and upload it to YouTube).

We will take this sexy beast's video as an example:

Note the "Embed" code, middle right of that image (if you can't see it, click on the image to see the full size version). If you click on the code (<object width=.... ) once, right click, and copy. You should have something like this when you paste again:

This is HTML code. We like HTML code.

Go to your blog or forum post and select the HTML icon:

In this new window, paste the HTML code anywhere in it... I prefer the bottom because I'm cool like that.

Before you click "Update" in this new window, search for a the url that the video is at. In our example it's

http://www.youtube.com/v/tvaEEi4fuqw&rel=1

Which you see it noted in the code twice. Copy everything that's after "http://www.youtube.com/v/" which, in this example, would be:

tvaEEi4fuqw&rel=1

Now you may hit "Update". The HTML window should go away and you should be back to your post. Notice that nothing has changed, this is because the code you inserted is behind the scenes. We will now reference that code in the post. This allows us to specify where in the post we will be showing the video.

When you find the place you want to put this in, type the following :

Remember that piece of code I just told you to copy? That's how we reference it! Make sure and put "YouTube" and not "youtube". It is case sensitive.
