Root's Words of Wisdom: The Code

Published 25 September 07 10:19 PM | root

The code I live by:

  1. Live with no regrets.
  2. Feel the fear, then do it.
  3. Past is past, learn from it and live in the now.
  4. Speak your mind, but don't forget karma
  5. Black and white is rare. Gray is life.
  6. Do the best you can with what you have at hand (see rule 1)
  7. The best lie is laced with truth
  8. Protect those you love (see rule 7 and 1)
  9. Even something as thin as paper has two sides to it.
  10. "I'd be happy to" will get you far at work.

Feel free to add your own code.

Till next time users,

Never argue with an i***t, he'll drag you down to his level and beat you by experience.

Not to be crude but my mother always said," you'll feel better after you go to the bathroom". That's sage advice my friend. It works for just about anything.

We are all going to the same place but taking different routes..

There is no question without an answer. No question is closed to an open mind....

Better to light a candle than to curse the darkness...

Skepticism taken to the extreme is just another form of delusion..

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs nor cast pearl before swine lest they trample them underfoot and rend unto you....

When looking for the cause of your troubles it is best first to look into the mirror.....

When the play is over, only a memory remains....

"Another factor in maintaining balance involves the element of time. As we peer into society's future, we -- you and I, and our government -- must avoid the impulse to live only for today, plundering, for our own ease and convenience, the precious resources of tomorrow. We cannot mortgage the material assets of our grandchildren without risking the loss also of their political and spiritual heritage. We want democracy to survive for all generations to come, not to become the insolvent phantom of tomorrow."

Dwight D. Eisenhower, 1960

wow Dub what happened to you?

So I said to Steve, " Your music is like liver-cake. You can go ahead and make a cake out of liver but you are really limiting your audience with the ingredients you choose. People like music, people like cake. Most people don't like liver. Of the people that do like liver might not want a cake made with it. Some people may have been waiting their whole lifes for liver-cake but unless somebody invents it they would never find it. By choosing to write music that is multi-syncopated odd time signatured and atonal you are using elements that people have a hard time relating to,.... making liver-cake".

Steve replied,"you're very high aren't you?".

About root

I currently live in Plano, Texas and work at an IT outsourcing company as a SAN Storage Administrator. You can say I'm one of those 'just out of college kids'.

Hobbies: writing, computer building, reading (usually computer books but I get around to SciFi/Fantasy once in a while), movies/tv, bars, IT security, and of course Eggxpert.

Not much of a Myspace/Facebook kind of guy. My top (dot com) sites I visit are Gmail, Eggxpert, Writing, and Digg.

In short, I'm just another guy with a computer and an internet connection.
