The big switch!!!!

So when will it be for you?
Don't know what I'm talking about?
The big switch to Windows Vista.
Ok, it's a well known fact, Vista is not that great of an operating system, or at least not yet. Yes it does have some very good potential, but for the moment, it's just not there yet.
I've always been a late adopter. I didn't migrate over to XP from Win 2000 Pro until 2004. But that wasn't because XP was bad, I just really loved 2000 Pro, and in my personal opinion, it is still the most stable and reliable OS from Microsoft to date.
I am a system builder and network admin. So when the big new OS's from Microsoft come out, I am always an early tester. When Vista Beta 2 was released, I was impressed. I thought Microsoft was really onto something. I realised that it still needed allot of work, but it seemed like it had some good potential.
Well, as a system builder I have built a few systems now with Vista (per the customers request) and I still feel as though Vista needs work. So as of right now, nearly a year after it's release, I still have not made the switch. I have been telling myself that I would wait until at least SP1 came out. But early reviews of SP1 don't really seem all that encouraging. So I may wait it out a bit longer.
I did finally make one small OS upgrade recently. I went from XP Pro to XP Pro 64bit. Ya I know, it's not really that much of a change, but it did make me feel better inside.
Ohhh and just in case the OS X and Linux fan boys start to grumble, I do use Ubuntu as well and I like it. I like OS X too. Just look at my last blog entry where I compared the big three. But this post isn't about Linux or OS X, it's about XP -vs- Vista.
I'll most likely make the switch to Vista before 2010. I'm just going to wait it out a bit longer. Or at least till I feel that Vista really has something I am missing.
