$60 for an ugly headset with poor support and bad ratings?
Let's not lie to ourselves here. If there's a mic attached to it then it's disposable. No one buys headphones w/ a mic with the expectation that it's going to last forever (or for any real length of time) because it's likely some i***t with an over-amped voice on Vent/whatever will blow your headset. With that in mind, the less you spend the better.
It's for that reason I can't recommend spending more than $20 on a headset.
I personally use a $18 Phillips I got from Walmart. It's not too uncomfortable(I find -all- headphones uncomfortable), sounds good (though one of the speakers is already slightly damaged by a person with an over amped voice), and I'm told the mic is acceptable and the playback tests sounded good to me.
For a Newegg recommendation, I'd have to go with something that's popular and $20 or below.
These seem like good choices but I can't personally recommend them.

As for audiophiles, I'm pretty sure they already have their selection of $100+ headphones and either a clip-on mic or a cheap headset.
