HELP!..... Source:Kernel-Power???

I recently recieved an order from Newegg for a new gaming PC rig. After carefully assembling it, I successfully loaded Windows 7 64bit and installed Call of Duty 4 on it. When playing multiplayer online for about 10 minutes, the OS locks up and I am forced to use the reset button on the tower. I get the following critical message in the event viewer's Administrative Events: "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly. Source:Kernel-Power" This has happened about five times now, and I've ruled out some obvious things like; The Operating System, All drivers/patches/bios are current, No overclocking/tweaks ever applied to anything. According to the error message above, I think it may be the CPU or graphics card since they are the only things with a processor. However, I don't think it's the power supply since it doesn't shut down the system.  The following list details my rig, less the DVD drive.  Please let me know what needs replacement ASAP!

it makes sense that the computer would tell you it had not been shut down correctly if you have used reset or power button.  I'd suggest booting into safe mode (press F8 key while booting) and verifying system devices.

I'd probably want to check my network drivers if it's only happening on a network game.

Thanks for the advice.  I should be getting the replacement CPU and Video Card in another two days.  I'll verify the LAN drivers first thing.. Makes sense now.  It only crapped out on me after playing an intense online game after a while.  Otherwise, any other intense solo graphics game ran without a stutter.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Almost sounds like a motherboard or cpu heat issue, driver issues would have shown up immediately....see if you can duplicate the shutdown and check your heat sensor readings as you play the game.  Possible solution... add a side fan to create cross ventilation... The antec case will hold a sizable fan directly in front of the cpu on the side panel door.  Additionally check the heat spec on the cpu and motherboard as well as your video card, also, your power supply does not have modular cabling, which means, you will have to channel the extra cables into an area that does not block your current fan configuration.  Your up there kind of high on the cpu at 140 watts, that can generate a lot of heat in a very short period of time.  If your doing water cooling good luck with that.... I'm not a water guy... lol

Oh...I forgot...that message will play for any unscheduled shutdown outside of the OS, and Sometimes in placing the cpu fan you might have accidentally removed some or all of the thermal strip that comes on the stock cooler... you wanna check that and or reseal with thermal paste(arctic silver 5).
