Ok everyone tends to wonder, so I'm asking. What's you main interest in the Chinese culture?
I NEVER thought I would study foreign languages or even cultures.. I always saw myself as a geeky computer science type with a strong background in software development and programming. Things have a way of turning upside-down on you when you least expect it. Especially when you've got great teachers who really know how to get their students interested in topics and expand their horizons. Chinese language and culture is so fascinating that I often stop to wonder why people don't learn more about it. Instead of asking me why I'm interested in it, perhaps you should be asking why other people aren't? More likely I think that they have absolutely no idea how fascinating Asian culture and language really is. I had a friend once in high school that told me programming languages aren't real languages. After many years, I've come to a very simple conclusion that they're actually quite similar, the only difference being that spoken languages are based off of culture and programming languages are based off of mathematics. At least, that is what I strongly believe.
What field are you pursuing to be in, and do you have a "back-up" career lined up?
Software Development.. If I can get into that, then I'm on target for my career.. I have been building and fixing computers since I was a very little tot back in the days when it was $3 an hour for a connection to the Internet and the only ISP that didn't have a long distance telephone number was AOL. Where the concepts "Cable Modem" and "Internet Access through a cable line" was still a "theoretically possible" idea and only existed on paper. I really like mathematics and I love working with software. The reason for that is because when working with hardware, I always get the feeling that I'm the kaboose of a long train or in the last seat of a roller coaster. Working with hardware that other people have designed, tested, and sold seemed a little depressing to me. I want to be the one doing the design, testing and selling. I want to be towards the front line, or at least the middle, and not at the back. Though I certainly do have a lot of experience helping end users with computer problems. Certainly those who make a career out of building computers and helping users with problems deserve all the respect in the world for the billions of problems that they run into while working with computers.
What color is blue? hehe
I was lucky to have an awesome art teacher.. And she always said... "A color is not a color until it's next to a color".. I really liked this saying as you can't have good (yin) without evil (yang).. You can't have light without darkness, and you can't have blue without the other colors.
What is your biggest thrill being on EggXpert?
Helping people with their all their computer problems. It's both fun and educational.
Funniest thing seen on EggXpert?
The "Ask the Dude" thread.. Of course there is also a lot of hilarious stuff in the YouTube area of the EggXpert forums.
Hows the job hunt going?
Pretty good actually. I have a bunch of job interviews lined up this week that I'm very excited to go to.. Some of them are very serious big companies and they've got lists of regulations and such that they need their software developers to follow. It would absolutely be an honor and a joy to work at such prestigious places and put what I learned in college as a Computer Science major to great use.
What systems have you built (for yourself) and what are you running now?
A lot of people would probably be shocked to know that I'm not a performance junkie.. I build very quiet, very long lasting, and extremely power efficient PCs. Many of the ones that I have are over 10 years old and are still chugging along just fine running Linux desktops and servers. You'd be surprised what you could do with an old Pentium 3 processor, a great server Linux distro like Debian, and a box of ECC RAM sticks..
What are Your Favorite Anime?
Tough question tough question.. I spend much more time watching movies these days than Anime.. There is only one Anime that I keep up with on a regular basis because I like cute little love story animes.. So I'd have to say the Ah! My Goddess series. The new seasons that have just come out are absolutely beautiful in both artwork and music. I've been with the series for a very long time and recommend people read the Manga as well.. The seasons are "PG" rated and my little sister likes the series too..
Do you have any pets?
Yesss I do! Want to see my little Angel? Yes, her name really is Angel.

Whats your favorite picture of yourself?

Whats your favorite picture/slide show/video ?
*(Coming soon?)
How Does it feel to be the one with the largest number of posts for over 3 months strait?
Everybody gets their 5 minutes of fame. With enough time and dedication, you can excel at anything.
Your Favorite OS? And Why?
Believe it or not, it's Windows XP. I used to be a huge Linux zealot back in the late '90s where it was quite shameful to be running Windows 98 or Windows ME instead of Linux. I used to wear Linux T-Shirts every day of the week and even handed out Linux stickers and Debian GNU/Linux CDs to the unfortunate souls still running Windows 98/ME. Things have certainly changed a lot since then and when it comes to gaming, there is no better gaming Operating System than Windows. For most other things, I use Linux. It's a matter of using the right tool for the right job. It's impressive that so many people can build a computer using only a bent paper clip, but the person with the screwdriver will be able to do so much more in the same time.
What other Forums have/do you use?
EggXpert of course is my favorite forum. Soompi is my 2nd favorite forum. Soompi has areas to talk about everything! They've also got some neat features there that I think EggXpert might learn from.. Of course, EggXpert has many things that Soompi doesn't, such as the great people that hang around that help so many with their computer problems. And of course, the new built-in chat feature of EggXpert which everybody should go check out if they haven't already!
