Black Widow Case Mod-update #3

Hello all,

I wanted to document my progress on my case mod. This is just a fun project for me, as I've always wanted to dive into the world of modding. Any opinions/suggestions/comments are welcome and appreciated!

The first picture I'll post illustrates my plans for cutting out a spider on the side panel. The blue shaded areas are the parts that I will cut out, leaving the spider behind.

case dimensions- 16"L x 8.5"W x 26"H

 - yea I know. I'm not that good of an artist.

I will post pics of the case shortly. Next step-cutting!

---------------------------------------------------------------
Update 1

Here are some pics of the case. This is what I have to work with. A perfect canvas!
-Addtronics full-tower ET7890A case. (still available for purchase for $399 w/PSU) Luckily, I got this for free from a coworker.

1st pic- shows the spider outline on my side panel. Gotta love that beige color!
2nd pic- Front profile shot. Pretty simple layout.
3rd pic- Rear shot of the case. I cut out a 92mm hole for an exhaust fan at the top.
4th pic- Up close shot of the front bezel. As you can see, there were very small holes perforating the bezel. I drilled these out to increase their size, thus, increasing airflow. From around 1/16" to 1/4"
5th pic- Chassis. I cut out two 92mm fan holes in the front. This will soon be black.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update 2

I have cut my side panel in the shape of the spider. It doesn't look too bad! I was worried about my panel warping or twisting as I cut, but I had no problem. Used a 24TPI metal jigsaw blade. Ofcourse, this was filed.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update 3

Mother Nature has finally cooperated and gave me some nice weather to do some painting! :)

I started priming my side panel, 5.25" bay covers, and the front bezel. Here's a shot of both after 4 coats of primer.

As the title states, this is a 'Black Widow' case mod. I'm trying to follow the them of black and red....but black and neon green accents sound sooooo appealing, which wouldnt not fit in with a 'black widow'. But we shall see, I'm taking this step by step! ~more to come

Well its too bad that class and work have to get in the way, or else I'd do this everyday and have updates for you everyday also. lol

I'm borrowing a 3.5" hole saw for a sheet of aluminum that I will be putting on the front bezel, and cut out two 92mm fan holes. Hopefully priming the rest of the case and chassis.

A new update will be Thursday!

looks really good so far. Is that flat gray or does the sun just make flat black look bright? good thing led fans are cheap I would pic up both and see what you like best. Finding red lights that give off a nice dark red can be a bit of a pain.

Nice work if you want to accent the plastic back plate to the side panel you could always try Liquid plastic with translucant colors of your choice, it worked great with my Volcano mod case though it does get expensive.
