Yes CodePhoenix, the change is to Digital from Analog. While HD is a subset of Digital all digital is not HD.

What gives the FCC to phone companies have to share their lines with competition, but cable companies dont!? What Im stuck with crappy charter, I love charters new propaganda AD: "Keep cable local" In other words dont allow verzion fios tv to come to your town, and give you a beter price, even tho they run their own line!

Apparently you don't know how our government works.

Like so many other issues, the liberal press have conditioned the naive and ignorant masses to think that anything we don't like about government is the fault of President Bush.

When you say "So, who gives the FCC the power to make such choices, well President Bush...of course." you display your own ignorance of how things work.

Just for the record, it's Congress that gives the FCC its power, not the President. Plus the "Digital Television Transition and Public Safety Act of 2005" you reference, was written by (you guessed it) Congress, not President Bush! The only thing you got right in your diatribe was that the President signed the bill.

Perhaps a short civics lesson is in order.

Just so we get the record totally right!! The Congress did pass the bill, but it was a totally Republican controlled congress and you expected what? President bush to side for the betterment of the people over his money grubbing buddies!! DuHHHHHH! and just for the record I am an Independent I vote for whoever I think will do the best for the country!

I don't think the vote was as one sided as some people would like to believe. Check out the congressional record. There were any clear cut partison divisions.
