A sort of end-to-end how to, from build requests

re: CAGG Labs

Just about every Forum has a modding/building section. (they get very drawn out)

I think it may be more useful to just have a gallery of comp picts (Just picts no replies) so others could benefit from ideas. (maybe limited to 2 or 3 picts of each comp)

I think time would be better spent on a series of How-Tos. Where people submit how they painted, wired, cooled or for the more adventurous designed their cases. Than the staff could select the article that is full of the most useful info and post it.

I was going to do basically this on a thread in the system builds section as I put my comp together, and another in OCing section when I get to that. Just a sort of specific "how-to" with pictures.

Sure there are a number of modding sites out there that do this all ready but our user base (for the most part) is the closeted Geeks. They don't know how to build computers yet, or don't know enough to built it from scratch, but want to know how. This could also be good for the seasoned veterans, about the different types of machines there are (gaming, <enter application> server, etc) as well as the true cosmetic 'mods' of coolness. But I think the biggest cool factor, as many have mentioned, is the pictures of the end result.

We need to educate them a little first, get the basics explained IE PSU so many dont understand the purpose of the rails let alone how much power is needed to operate what componet, then there's Ram the different speeds, the different FSB's and on and on need I say more. the fact that we answer the same ?'s time and time again. Set up a blog that does this and you'll have more time for the real help ?'s and projects like setting up build sites. Just a thought. take it for what its worth.
