Many users have wondered what the EggXplorer badge represents and if it will be reborn. Maybe it’s the holiday spirit(s), but we think it’s finally time to shed some light and, at least partially, give in to your demands.
First off, what was it for? This badge once symbolized the winner of a newsletter scavenger hunt which had readers utilizing memory and the search function to browse the forum, blogs and site in general. TempestKing, being the last winner of the contest, has held the badge for several months, what with the hunt being canceled and all.
As for a rebirth, the answer is half and half – the badge will be passed around again, but the scavenger hunt will not be escaping the grave. Instead, the badge will be awarded to a new user every month according to your vote – whoever the community feels has been most helpful in digging up info from all over the internet will have a shot at getting a new badge.
If you feel a user deserves recognition for contributing and gathering links, data and stories from around the web for others to see and read, show them your appreciation! It could be cman and his comprehensive CPU news, UbberEgger for his YouTube vids or even a Selectee who always has the links to back up his or her argument.
The badge will be a proud symbol of their extra effort, value and contributions to the EggXpert community - may it be serious, lighthearted or otherwise.
